Puppy Guide

We would like to thank you for considering a TCK puppy. This is an exciting time for you and your family and we are here to make the transition of buying and bringing a new puppy home as easy as possible.  We do everything possible to give our puppies an excellent start in life. From experience raising our own puppies, we try to make the transition to a new home as easy as possible for our litters and their new owners.

The Buying Process

Steps to Acquiring one of our puppies:

1) If you are interested in a puppy or upcoming litter, please contact us so we can discuss what is available and what we may have that could suit your wants/needs. Not all of our litters are suited for companion homes and not all of our litters are posted on our website;
2) Complete our puppy questionnaire and submit it to us;

3) After review and approval, we will work together to find the right puppy for you and your family. We will send you an email with a deposit form. You will need to send a $250 non-refundable deposit and complete the deposit form in order for us to hold a puppy for you.

Puppy Questionnaire

Our questionnaire is designed to help us understand your household, family, lifestyle and what qualities you are looking for in a puppy. Should you be approved/selected for a puppy, we will require a non-refundable deposit to hold a puppy for you. Completing our application is not a commitment on your part nor is it a guarantee that we will place a puppy with you. Our pups will be ready to go to their new homes around 8 weeks of age.

Deposits and Payments

Male and female reservations will be taken prior to a litter being born. Unless otherwise stated, a $250 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your pick. Puppies will be chosen in the order that deposits are received. Picks are based on puppy applications and desired wants, needs or traits. Thus, insuring our puppies go to appropriate homes while allowing families to still pick there puppy. When placing a deposit we will need to know the color and sex of the puppy that you would like to reserve. We will not accept a deposit from anyone without a prior approved puppy application. Pick of your puppy must be made by 7 weeks of age unless other arrangements have been made.

Deposits are only refundable if the dam does not become pregnant. Deposits are only transferable in the instance that your preferred sex or color is not born. However, we do not refund or transfer deposits just because you changed your mind or decided to purchase a puppy from someone else. If you simply change your mind and seek another puppy elseware, you forfeit the deposit amount. Deposits are applied to the total price of the puppy.

As the owners, we always have the right to reserve first or second pick female or male in each litter at any time for our own kennel improvement. We are constantly searching for ways to improve our bloodlines for ourselves as well as future families. We also reserve the right to refuse sale even if deposit has been accepted, in this case the deposit will be refunded minus any expenses incurred including but not limited to vet expenses, food and time spent.

The following payment methods are accepted:

Venmo App
Zelle
Good Dog

The remaining balance after deposit must be paid before puppies leave us at 8 weeks. The balance can be paid on the day of pick up or prior to the day of pick up. No personal checks are accepted!

Taking Your Puppy Home

Places To Stay

We recommend Days Inn by Wyndham in Emporia, VA. Our kennel is located 24 miles from here. This hotel is easily accessible from the interstate. There are several restaurants in close proximity including an authentic Mexican restaurant inside of the hotel.

Blanket Swap

Picture
We have a supply of inexpensive fleece blankets (purchased from Walmart, Dollar General, etc) We will supply a blanket with mom and littermates smell in exchange for a new blanket. This helps with the transition by providing the puppy with a comforting familiar scent. If this is something you would like to participate in, please let us know, so we have a blanket ready for you at pickup.

Food

Puppies will be eating dry kibble when they are ready to go home. We will supply a few days of food in our puppy pack. We feed Eukanuba Large Breed Puppy.
We do not require our puppies to remain on this food but puppies will need to be fed an appropriate food for growth and development. We do not recommend a grain free diet due to the links to cardiac disease.
