Here at TCK we offer both Labrador Retriever puppies as well as Boykin Spaniel puppies. Two very different breeds with similarities in very natural hunting and retrieving instincts and a strong desire to please through dual purpose for performance and home
The Labrador Retriever
The Labrador Retriever is easily America's most favorite breed. The Labrador Retriever was bred to be both a friendly companion and useful working dog breed. Historically, they earned their keep as fishermen's helpers.
The Boykin Spaniel, known for its floppy ears, rich brown wavy to curly coat and generally hyper personality, is rightfully the state dog of South Carolina. Boykins, bred by South Carolina hunters to be hardworking bird dogs that were “small enough to not rock the boat,” got their name from Whit Boykin, a dog trainer from Camden, SC, who established the breed from an exceedingly well-behaved spaniel from Spartanburg with the unfortunate name of “Dumpy.” In 1984, Governor Richard W. Riley proclaimed the Boykin Spaniel as the official state canine with September 1st being known as “Boykin Spaniel Day.”
